Gary Lachman is the author of several books on counterculture and alternative thought, including ‘New York Rocker: My Life in the Blank Generation with Blondie, Iggy Popp and Others’, ‘Turn Off Your Mind: The Mystic Sixties and the Dark Side of the Age of Aquarius’ and his most recent release ‘Politics and the Occult: The Left, the Right, and the Radically Unseen’.

As ‘Gary Valentine’ he was a founding member of the rock group fronted by Debbie Harry, Blondie; played guitar with Iggy Pop; and fronted his own groups the Know and Fire Escape. Gary was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

A frequent lecturer on the history of the counterculture movement, Lachman has appeared in several UK television documentaries and frequently broadcasts for the BBC. Originally from New Jersey, Gary now lives in London.
